Matt Weston has been voted Athletes’ Athlete of the Month for February after winning two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The skeleton athlete triumphed in both the men’s individual race and the mixed team race with Tabby Stoecker to become the first British Winter Olympian to win two gold medals at the same games and Team GB’s most successful male Winter Olympian.

Presented by the British Elite Athletes Association (BEAA), the Athletes’ Athlete of the Month award celebrates the achievements of Britain’s elite sportspeople.

It recognises competitive achievements, personal development, inspiring comebacks, charity work, and awareness-raising, and is voted for by BEAA members - athletes funded by UK Sport’s World Class Programme.

Congratulations to Matt and also to his fellow nominees Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nightingale (snowboarding), Ben Levy (judo) and Matt Richardson (cycling) for being shortlisted.

Athletes can get involved in choosing the winner of future awards via the BEAA’s monthly member emails.
