The Athlete Advisory Forum (AAF) is one of the key ways the BEAA helps to elevate the athlete voice in decision making.
Made up of athletes from across summer, winter, Olympic and Paralympic sports, the AAF represent Britain’s elite sportspeople and share their views to help shape high-performance system policies and the strategic direction of the BEAA.
The forum is chaired by GB and England Hockey captain and BEAA Board member Hollie Pearne-Webb, and meets regularly to discuss topics that affect elite athletes such as coaching, culture, ED&I, finances, representation, safeguarding, selection, social impact, support and welfare. Its views are then fed back to stakeholders when making policy decisions.
With UK Sport making athlete input into policy development part of its response to the Whyte Review, AAF members play a crucial role in representing the interests and perspectives of elite athletes within the UK, helping to foster an athlete-centric environment within elite British sport.
